Micro Nav, a global leader in air traffic control simulation technology, is pleased to announce the successful completion of a Site Acceptance Test (SAT) for a state-of-the-art 3D Tower Simulator upgrade delivered to the Comissão de Implantação do Sistema de Controle do Espaço Aéreo (CISCEA) in Brazil with our customer and partner, ACAMS and ATC Systems.
The new simulator, replacing an existing Micro Nav simulator installed in 2014, is located at the Airspace Control Institute (ICEA) in São José dos Campos, represents a significant advancement in air traffic control training capabilities for the region.
The newly accepted 3D Tower Simulator showcases Micro Nav's commitment to advancement in air traffic management training. Key features of the system include:
High-fidelity 3D models of 22 airports in Brazil
Integration with the ACAMS SITC i6 platform, widely used in Brazil's major airports
Updated LCD monitors for enhanced visual capabilities
Comprehensive stimulation of interfaces including Airfield Lighting, MET, ATIS, AFTN, NAVAIDS, and CCTV
Integration with the Saipher TATIC solution
Shane Hannam, Sales Director of Micro Nav, commented, "We are thrilled with the successful acceptance of our 3D Tower Simulator by CISCEA. This project demonstrates our ability to deliver complex, integrated solutions in conjunction with our partners, ACAMS and ATC Systems, that meet the evolving needs of our users worldwide."
The new simulator provides an immersive and realistic training environment, closely replicating the operational conditions faced by air traffic controllers. This advanced system allows for:
Improved operational efficiencies, reducing costs
Flexible and customisable training scenarios
Multiple airports from the single simulation platform
Increased situational awareness for trainees
Major Brigadier Engineer Alexandre Arthur Massena Javoski, President of CISCEA, emphasised the importance of the new system: "The closer the simulation is to reality, the better the training of our Air Traffic Controllers and the greater the benefits for Air Navigation Safety."
This delivery marks an extension of Micro Nav's long-term relationship with CISCEA, building on the success of the first Tower Simulator installed at the facility in 2014. The end customer has already placed an order for a second tower simulator, planned for delivery in the first half of 2025.
"We're proud to extend our relationship with CISCEA and contribute to the advancement of air traffic control training in Brazil," adds Shane Hannam. "The immediate order for a second simulator underscores the value and effectiveness of our solutions."
Micro Nav's successful delivery and acceptance of this advanced 3D Tower Simulator reinforces its position as a leading provider of innovative air traffic control simulation technology, supporting safer and more efficient skies worldwide.
