We're seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team, reporting directly to the Head of Quality Assurance and Systems. This role is crucial in providing requirements analysis and systems engineering support across our product development, sales and marketing, and customer support functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional versatility in handling diverse tasks and flexibility in managing rapidly changing priorities. The ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently is essential in this customer-facing role, where you will serve as the focal point for many initial and ongoing customer interactions.
Ensure accurate capture of customer requirements, covering solution architecture, feature development, and third-party system interfaces
Represent Micro Nav in activities with customers, integration partners, and end-users, including requirements gathering and critical design reviews
Translate customer needs into comprehensive software requirements that reflect solution architecture and operational needs
Ensure software requirements provide a suitable platform for testing and will be accepted by the customer first time
Review solutions to verify they address functional requirements and meet both customer and internal needs
Provide system-level guidance and technical advice to other departments
Maintain requirements baseline for each product
Comply with company Quality Management System requirements
Stay current with specialist technical topics to support project and internal needs
Own and drive process improvement initiatives within the systems team and related functions
Travel to customer sites worldwide as required
An experienced systems engineer with strong requirements engineering and solution architecting capabilities
An expert in Air Traffic Control operational protocols and procedures
Skilled in stakeholder management, able to engage effectively at all levels
Excellent analytical thinker with strong attention to detail
Versatile professional capable of handling multiple concurrent tasks
Strong communicator with experience in customer-facing roles
Knowledge of systems engineering best practices
Expert understanding of Air Traffic Control operational protocols and procedures
Knowledge of using Windows operating systems
Experience in engineering practices, processes, methods, and tools, including requirements engineering and solution architecting
Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated ability in driving system component requirements from high-level customer needs
Experience preparing detailed requirement specifications for software development and testing
Strong PC literacy and good overall IT skills with appreciation of common hardware and software products
Understanding of requirements management tools
Proficiency with MS office tools
